Holkham Bay

I went to the beach…and it was lovely! I met up with friends (Dave and Kat) and then took a leisurely drive up towards the coast, stopping of at Waitrose (how pleasant) for breakfast!

We arrived at the Holkham Estate car park wandering what was going on: it was the first really proper sunny weekend and there was no-one there! The beach and the sand dunes were really rather empty and we found the perfect spot in which to erect our wind-breaker…how British!

In the end we were on the beach until about 4.30pm, at which time we decided to venture over to Holkham Hall and the park area, as we’d all been to the bay loads, but never actually got around to seeing the house. I am very glad we did, as it’s a really pretty park with a massive (and I do mean MASSIVE) herd of Deer!

We walked around the Hall and saw a very quaint game of Cricket by the lake, along with a small group of people cheering them on alongside their Cricket tea!
