Cambridge

Ems is staying with me and my parents, which is fantastic, as we’re literally giggling for every moment of the day. Today we went to Cambridge, mainly so we could go punting!

When we left Hemel, it was raining…and by raining I don’t just mean raining, I mean RAINING…as in you can’t actually see three feet in front of you…and to make the driving conditions even worse, some idiot driving a bin lorry decided to drive in the middle lane, thus covering the rest of us mere mortals in a horrific spray of rain/road water.

Once we had got into Cambridge and up to the Trumpington Park and Ride (coolest place name EVER) I suddenly realised that I had no change, so needed to go to the cash point. Of course there are no cash points near to the park and ride, so we had to drive a little way into Cambridge to actually get money…and of course once we’d found some money I realised that I actually did have a ten pound note in my purse, therefore meaning that our little detour was really quite pointless. Grrr!
We did finally get on to the Park and Ride, after some heavy rain and a very large queue to get on, and were off towards the fantastic city that is Cambridge. After a spot of lunch at ‘Tatties’ where I think I must have eaten the LARGEST potato that I have ever laid eyes on, we set off for the Punting. We managed to get away with a discounted price (£14.50) and a lovely guide! Smiles all round here 🙂
