India: Sightseeing Goa, Day 3

I started the day on a low note, pulling off half of my blister by accident as i tended to the bandage/plaster thing that i had placed over it so that it did not pop in the night.

Following my mini freak out, I packed up my things and headed for the bus station in Chaudi. I got straight onto a bus headed for Margao, where I would then head to Benaulim Beach. This isn’t very far from Patnem, only about an hour and a half by bus. I nearly got this far on the moped that I rented a few days ago!

The bus ride was very short and I managed to get my luggage under the bus, thus getting some extra legroom; very rare on the local busses. For most of the journey the bus conductor played Sean Kingston songs on the stereo.

In Benaulim I found some available coco-huts after walking along the beach for a while. Mine is round with a little bathroom, double bed and a mosquito net. Fairly basic, but exactly what I need. After dumping my things, I ventured out along the beach to find some food. After this I walked all the way to the next resort: Colva! I rewarded myself with a posh coffee from Cafe Coffee Day.

Colva is heaving with people, mostly local families paddling and playing in the sea. It was strange though, because they were only using a small section of the beach, about 100 yards wide. If everyone just looked to the left or the right, they’d see that the rest of the beach is empty!

I walked back to the hut and chilled before going out for dinner at a restaurant along the beach. I had a rather lovely ‘Red Snapper’ with a garlic butter marinade with salad and a delicious butterscotch ice cream for afters ๐Ÿ™‚
