Waking up extremely early this morning I managed to get a lot of packing done.
Feeling lazy, I decided to take a taxi to the nearby (like five minute walk away) Bus Station. This is one of the most confusing Bus Stations that I have gone through yet! Its deals with three types of buses: the GSRTC (Goa State Road Transport Company) buses, the private local buses and the private deluxe long distance buses. Hectic and quite confusing if I’m totally honest!
I had to catch a bus to Mapusa (pronounced Map-sa) and then change there to get on another to Mandrem. I got off in what appeared to be the middle of nowhere and walked to the first place I could see that offered rooms. They are gorgeous! There are two types of huts available: ground and ones on stilts. I am in a normal ground level hut that has a spacious room and a large bathroom, with HOT WATER! The main room has a lovely big bed and a sort of wicker sofa with a coffee table, a pretty rug and a huge mirror to look at your lovely tan in! They provide their own bug-plug for the mosquitos and a net.

After getting cooled down and dumping my bag I go for a little lunch and then a meander along the beach. I tried to take some lovely photos of the cute birds fishing along the coast, but I’m not sure that I have quite managed it…I did manage to get some good scenery I think.

I found a little pooled section of sea that wasn’t going in and out with the rest of the tide. It was nice to just lie in the sea and not have to worry about it covering you or taking you off down the beach!
At dinner I shared the restaurant with a group of Russian tourists, they were complaining that the Vodka wasn’t strong enough and were dancing on tables. The owner of the place eventually came out and told them to get down. They did, but carried on dancing next to the tables!
