Travelling to Khajuraho

Well I haven’t really done much today but I do fear that I’m turning into a ‘gap-yah’ backpacker (for those of you who have no idea what that is: click here).

The reason that I am turning into a Gap Yah is because today I bought a Pashmina 🙂

I had nothing to do today but wait around for my train, which wasn’t until 11.20pm, so I took an auto-rickshaw around the city, visiting many modern shops and also ‘craft’ shops selling saris, Pashminas and Indian crafts. Well I bought a HUGE Pashmina and now I feel posh. When it came to getting my train, I arrived at the train station an hour or so early so that I could chill and watch the arrivals/departures board and see the status of my train. Which was all going very well until the board froze and I had no idea whether my train was running on time or late. This is when I became slightly on edge!

It was all good though: it arrived late but I got onto the correct train and found my bed, got in and went to sleep. By the time the train left it was past midnight and the journey didn’t take THAT long. The Pashmina was very useful on the train ride because I got a sheet but no blanket, so was freezing. I whipped out the Pashmina and all was well!

I had set my alarm for 6.15am because the train was due to arrive at 6.35am, however as I had set of late the train was running late, I didn’t arrive until 8am. I could have had another hours sleep…never mind I have a fab Pashmina darling!
