Travelling to Pokhara

Despite planning to go from the border to Lumbini and then travelling to Palpa and THEN to Pokhara, I actually decided to go straight to Pokhara.  This decision was largely based on the fact that I only have a 30 day Visa and the trek that I want to do may take up to 21 days, so if I mess around sightseeing beforehand I might not get through all of the trek.

I did spend most of the day on the bus, getting to the city at about 4pm.

I ended up in the ‘Peace Home’ which has cosy, rustic feeling rooms without fans, which is a first in three months! I think that this says a lot about the temperature here!

I spent the rest of the day trying on outerwear in order to ready myself for the upcoming trek. I ended up with a coat, trousers and socks. There is still an awful lot to buy, but at least I am making a start. Getting back to my room, I snuggled down in the down duvet and fell into a brilliant sleep, undisturbed by train horns, prayer calls, fireworks or generators.

Nepal, I think I might love you!
