Nepal: The World Peace Pagoda

I swapped hotels this morning because the one that I was staying in was not suitable for holding my luggage whilst I trek: as in they would charge me for this service!

I moved to a hotel that wouldn’t charge me. I moved instead to ‘Hotel Travel Inn’ which is posh by my standards. Plus I thought that I’d like to have somewhere a bit nice to come back to after my trek. I feel like it’ll feel more luxurious.

I ate breakfast before moving on to try the trek to the World Peace Pagoda again. Today I found the trail to the pagoda very easily and got to the top in just over an hour and a half, despite Lonely Planet saying that it should take over two hours. I’m not sure where I went wrong last time.

Once at the top I sat and read my guidebook, chilling out and eating bourbon biscuits before making my way back down again. I chose to try the quicker route back down, this is basically stone steps all the way down to the edge of the lake, at which point you have to get a paddle boat across…very pleasant.

I have spent the rest of my day sorting out the last of my things and getting ready for the trek tomorrow. See you all in a few weeks πŸ™‚
