The Reunification Palace is in the center of Ho Chi Minh City and is built on the site of the former Norodom Palace. It is a big landmark in the city, as it was the site of the end of the Vietnam War during the fall of Saigon on April 30th 1975. On this date the North Vietnamese Army tanks crashed through the gates and found the president of the South Vietnamese army ready to surrender. The Palace itself is still used for official purposes but the main rooms have been left completely alone and only the offices are still in circulation.
It’s so retro!
