Today I visited the Hue Citadel and the Imperial Enclosure. It was lovely 🙂
The Citadel
Perched gloriously on the edge of the Perfume River, this imposing walled city draws tourists to Hue to emerse themselves in its old-world charm.
I rented a bicycle and spent a lovely day pedalling my way around the city, stopping every now and then to take photos. I was glad of the breeze, as the city itself is a very warm place. It is less busy than other cities that I have visited, but still hectic.
The Imperial Enclosure
Inside the main Citadel is a city within a city! The former Imperial City sits inside a 6m high, 2,5km long wall and it is a crumbling, photogenic beauty.
