Being phoned up at 10am on Thursday and organizing a meeting and then interview for Friday at 9am and then 10am was slightly daunting considering I have only been in the country for one full week! Not that i’m complaining.
It was actually really nice to have sent my CV into a company and actually hear something back. All of the other companies haven’t really been up to much. I spoke to a really enthusiastic lady called Theresa, who informed me that sections of my CV had really stood out for her and that she would like to sort me out with an interview with a gentleman from the Ministry of Justice.
We had a quick conversation over the phone and I guess her aim was to figure out if I sounded like a normal person! I must have sounded relatively normal as she set me up with a meeting with her the following morning and then I would continue on to meet my potential new boss, Rene.
The first meeting didn’t feel like a proper interview! Theresa and I chatted for about half an hour and it felt like I was just having a conversation with an old friend, no pressure, no nerves, just a lovely happy conversation. We even got around to talking about shoes! I think that the point of this meeting was to find out if I am indeed as lovely as I appear on paper!
Theresa seemed happy with the meeting and off I ambled to my next meeting with Rene.
Again I didn’t feel any pressure, it felt like a normal everyday conversation and I felt totally at ease and relaxed, not like a normal interview! We chatted about the expectations of the job and what it is that I will need to do, it all sounded great to me and I really couldn’t wait to start 🙂
