At 9.06 am this morning, whilst sat at my desk listening to my iPod and getting on with work, my office shook for a good 30 seconds!
Everyone in the office looked as shocked as I felt and we all agreed that it was in fact rather scary. We were at the point where we were about to get under our desks, but it started to ease off and so we stayed put: the other side of the office had got under their desks. Most of my colleagues have said that this is the biggest shake they’ve felt in a while.
It was only the first of a few tremors felt today, but at 5.7 on the Richter Scale it is classed as ‘Severe’. We did have another at 4.4 on the Richter Scale at 3.21 pm but that was a mere wobble in comparison.
