Birthday bicycle

As it was my birthday this week I was lucky enough to have a few extra dollars floating around in my bank account. I had a long think about what I would like to get with the money and came up with only one realistic option: a bicycle.

Having a good trawl through the internet provided me with a list of places to look, so off I went!

I got very lucky in Bicycle Junction in Newtown…I found a lovely Healing racer: Healing is a Kiwi company from the 1970’s and my bicycle is from that time too…so my main mode of transport is actually over 33 years old. The bikes proper, rather self explanatory name is Healing Ten Speed and, according to the internet, was the most popular New Zealand made bike of all time!

When I bought the bike it was very blustery and I was slightly scared, it’s a lot bigger than my last few bikes!

After a few days of practice, i managed to get out on the bike successfully, without falling off!
