Charlotte’s friend Elliot and his housemate, Pauline, invited us all out to see an amateur dramatics adaptation of ‘Allo ‘Allo tonight. It was really good!
We were told to dress up as people from wartime, and we did, going all out and even buying nylons for the occasion. I decided to go as ‘Michelle Dubois’ the French Resistance lady from the show. She’s famous for randomly appearing in ‘Cafe Rene’ and saying, “Listen very carefully, i shall say this only once” when she has a key piece of information to divulge.
The stage was all set up like Cafe Rene and the audience like we were part of his cafe, we had menus on the tables and flowers and everything. There was only one thing that would have made it better…if we hadn’t been the only three dressed up!
When we were getting ready, before we lft our house, i had a sort of hesitation and asked Charlotte if it really was dress up. She replied with something along the lines of ‘Even Elliot isn’t that mean’ or ‘Pauline wouldn’t be having us on like that’...yeah!
Despite being the only three dressed up it was very fun. The cast were very good, the accents slipping occasionally, but the whole thing was very true to the series. We had a very fun evening with lots of wine!
