AECOM Christmas Party

What a way to spend a Saturday night; a boat ride to a lovely restaurant and then amazing food followed by a fun night of chatting and drinking!

James’s work Christmas party was this weekend, and at first I wasn’t that excited about going: I don’t know that many people and I was worried that I might be a little out of place. However,  I didn’t need to worry at all because we had a great night.

The theme was ‘Masquerade Ball’. So I wore the Sari James had bought me back from India…well, I had my friend Aishu help me get into it, but by the time I drove myself home, it was no longer actually draped properly, therefore I had to swap it out for a different dress.

There was a boat to the venue from Wellington Waterfront, and then a champagne reception when we got to the venue, which was lovely. After the champagne reception we sat down and listened to a few speeches and then dinner started.

I was a bit worried that I  would simply get rice cakes and fruit (which is pretty much all I tend to get when I go out to work meals or similar sorts of things), however, I had a very well made roasted lamb and roast potatoes, mashed potatoes and green vegetables. It was amazing!

After the food we mingled the night away and it was a really great evening.
