Thunderbirds are GO!

Finally!

Finally the insurance has come through and we are getting our house renovations. Yay. We were expecting a builder.
We got a builder, a plumber, a joiner, two men to have a look at the HVAC system and gas fired underfloor central heating system. Phew, thats more people than we’ve had in the house so far in total!

The builder started on the skirting boards. They were pretty much gone by lunchtime! In the meantime the plumber removed all of our downstairs bathroom and all of my kitchen appliances (he came back and reconnected them again later) and then the builder started removing the flooring. They came up against a little bit of a spanner in the works when they found linoleum underneath the vinyl flooring and had to send a little bit off to go get it checked for asbestos (oh dear).

The joiner came to remove my laundry cupboards and to measure up for some new ones. I’m getting like-for-like but i’m happy with that. I think i’ll also pop some shelves up when its all done to add a bit more storage to the huge expanse of wall in the room.

Two men came to look at the HVAC system and gas fired underfloor central heating system…bear in mind that this is all contained under the floor, and our house isn’t sitting that far off the ground…they sent the two tallest muscled men that I think they could have found!
After a very short amount of looking around, they left, I assume to try and work out how they are going to get under the house and get everything reconnected!

Overall, after one days work, i’m fairly impressed at how efficient everything is so far.
