After a lot of deliberation James and I decided to get a puppy. We drove to Levin this evening to pick him up 🙂
We brought him home in a pet carrier. He’s so tiny!
At the breeders house we sat down and filled in all of the paperwork before leaving with our little Herman. At first he was crying and sounded so upset, but after I moved him onto my lap he seemed to settle, and then he fell asleep!
Getting him home was quite stressful!
He’s so small and scared. He cried every time we left the room.
At first we set him up in the downstairs bathroom, with newspaper and his crate and bed. But then we felt bad and that he’d probably be lonely, so we moved him into a penned in area in the dining room. We felt bad leaving him there too, so we took him upstairs…but swiftly realised that wherever we put him he’s going to cry all night…so he went back down to the dining room and we hoped that he’d be okay.
I put my pyjamas in the bed with him in the hope that it’d make him feel a bit happier…I’m not sure why!

Herman was fine when I got up in the morning, he did whine for a little while but seemed to go to sleep fairly quickly. I really didn’t want to leave him in the morning of the next day! But, alas, I had to go to work. I spent the entire day hoping that he puppy likes us.

The next few days were all about Herman!
He is tiny. He doesn’t really do much yet, he just gets excitable and then it’s all a bit too much and he falls asleep! He seems to like us I think.
The cats seem to be reasonably interested in Herman, Agatha more so than Scribble. Agatha is doing with Herman what she was doing with the chickens, it’s like she thinks she’s their mum. Scribble is a little more wary!
