Lockdown photography is not ideal.
Week 11
This week has been interesting due to lockdown.
The learning materials for this week are all about architecture photography, in preparation from the assignment next week (Night Architecture). It’s not my favourite type of photography to take. I love looking at a good architectural photo, but I just cannot seem to actually take a good one myself.
I did a bit of reading up on how to get a good architectural photo and learnt a few things. One of the articles that I read said that you take different photos depending on the type of building or structure that you’re photographing. So, if you’re photographing an old building, like a church or if it’s historic, you get the entire thing in. If it’s a newer building or structure, you focus on the details and get only a piece of it in.
It’s quite hard to take photos of architecture when you’re not supposed to leave your house!
This week I also received my marks for Assignments B and C:
- Assignment B: C
- Assignment C: A-
With my essay [Assignment B], I went over the word count as I got a bit confused with my quotes. But overall I am happy with the effort. With Assignment C, the landscape shot, I didn’t quite get the f-stop perfect, and he commented on my cropping choice, but overall I am happy with my mark. A’s and B’s for the photos are fine with me!
