Things I am loving this week

I have had an average week. My real life (as opposed to my internet life) has been very busy! Work has been full on and deadlines are looming.

This past weekend was a combination of sun, wind and rain. James and I were out landscaping the garden! We’re having a bit of a drainage problem with the grassed area in our garden, so we did what anyone would do…we dug up the garden! The top 25-30mm layer of clay-like soil was removed, and then top soil and grass mix were laid. Finally then we scattered grass seed and I am hopeful that it will be bit less swampy now.

So, onto the things I am loving this week:

  • Casetify watch bands
  • NutriBullet
  • Records!
  • Wellness

I ordered two Casetify Apple watch bands and they arrived really quickly!

One is the Ink Dots – Black on White band, and the other is the Genuine Leather Watchband in pink. I chose two different colours because I like to have options.

Despite the fact that one is vegan leather, they both feel like they are leather. Both watch bands feel like they are made to a high quality, with nice shiny attachment clips (I’m not sure what they’re called…the bits that actually attach the band to the watch face). I’m really happy with the colours that I have chosen and they feel really nice, as well as looking very smart.

James bought me a NutriBullet!

I have wanted one for a while. As I already have a food mixer AND a food processor AND a stick blender, I thought I could probably get away without a blender. However, since James and I have started making smoothies quite a bit lately I thought that one might be useful, especially as it’s been taking me AGES to blend things and get to a smoothie-like consistency.

It can also be used to make cashew cheese and sauces, nut butters and things like soup.

My typical recipe is:

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2/3 cup frozen berries
  • 1/3 cup frozen or fresh banana
  • 1/4 cup coconut yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp chia
  • 1 tbsp oats
  • 1 tbsp frozen or fresh goji berries
  • 1 tbsp runny honey
  • You can also add protein powder if you are so inclined

You just pop everything into your blender and go!

My lovely husband also surprise gifted me a new vinyl!

I LOVE Country Rock music, and one of my favourite artists is Eric Church. He has recently released a triple album (well technically a double album because one of the three albums is only available to his fan-club) called Heart & Soul. James bought me Heart.

It’s such a great new album.

I have been very much into wellness this week.

First, bad yoga. When I say bad yoga, I mean that I’m bad at yoga. I want to be one of those people who can do their own yoga practice at home and get the most from it, however I am not one of those people. I get distracted and end up stopping half way through. I’m much happier at a group class.
So I have been trying to do yoga at home…I haven’t managed to get very far, but I have been trying and that is the main thing.

Secondly, I have been all about the face creams this week! I usually wear The Body Shop Vitamin E cream in the day time and Soap and Glory’s Beauty Sleep Accelerator overnight. I have, however, ran out of the trusty night cream and as I’m in New Zealand, I can’t actually buy a replacement, so I have been using other brands.

So far I have tried:

  • Nivea Daily Essentials Regenerating Night Cream – which is heavy but I quite like it. it smells like holiday and makes sy skin feel lovely by the morning.
  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream – which is, again, quite heavy. I like this a little less than the Nivea I think. It’s just that little bit too heavy for me I think. I prefer something that sinks into my skin a little easier.

This week James has been loving the Half Baked Catering Co‘s Snickers Slice ๐Ÿ™‚
