Christmas has been super busy!
I left everything to the last minute and it was a bit of a panic. Nevertheless, I did eventually get everything done, but with a bit more stress than I had anticipated.
Things I am loving this last few weeks:
- Christmas with friends.
- Cycling
- Generally not being at work or thinking about work at all!
This year James and I spent Christmas Day mostly with other people.
We begun the day with a 5km ParkRun – the first one in about 6 months! I was not prepared and didn’t manage to run the entire thing, but that’s okay and I aim to work on this in the New year! It was a bit of a shock to the system if i’m being completely honest…
Returning home, we had our breakfast on the deck with bubbles and then got dressed and opened presents. It was a nice chilled out morning.
Christmas Dinner was at our friends Tim and Roz’s house. We decided to cycle to their house with our cycle trailer full of gifts and booze. It took twice as long, but was a very good idea because it meant that we didn’t need to worry about driving home or getting an über on Christmas Day.
For a while now James and I have said that we would do more cycling and more hiking. This has got off to a slow start but we did attempt to cycle the Remutaka Cycle Trail. We gave up after two days but that’s fine – we’ll try it again later in 2022.
I have had a lovely break not thinking about work at all! It was only this morning when I realised that I could crack out the new planner for the year, and then realised that the holidays still have 9 whole days left 🙂
