Me Made May: Part I – My dress

Absolutely AGES ago I took a night class to learn a bit more about dressmaking, and I made a dress using pattern K6341; New Look Sewing Pattern Misses’ Dress in Three Lengths…thats a bit of a mouthful. Now i’ve actually finished it!

Recently I’ve been trying to do more sewing. As I only had a little bit of the dress left to do after the course (add the zip and hem the dress), I decided to take the bull by the horns and finish it. However, after adding the zip fairly easily, I just could not get the hem right!

I had to ask a friend to show me what to do!

In the process of this lesson, I got to use my friends overlocker (Serger). it’s amazing. I feel like I might need one soon…just saying…anyway – I now have an actual dress that fits, and the pattern pieces to make another one (or ten).

If you want to read more about the course itself, you can read my original post from 2019 about it: Beki Makes Things: I took a dressmaking course.
