Things I am loving this month: December

Things I am loving this last few weeks:

  • Christmas Eve at the Cinema
  • Christmas
  • Fiji

Christmas Eve at the Cinema

A new Irish film came out on pre-release this month; The Banshees of Inisherin. We went to see it on Christmas Eve. IMDB says this:

Two lifelong friends find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship, with alarming consequences for both of them.

The Banshees of Inisherin. (2023). IMDB. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11813216/

It’s an engaging film, very dark dry Irish humour, but gripping at the same time. There are some great bits where you just laugh out loud. I would recommend it to anyone who gets the Irish humour.

Also, as a side night, it’s great to see Brendon Gleeson and Colin Farrell in another movie together. They make a good film duo.

Christmas Day

Christmas for us this year was quiet. We got up and took the dogs for a walk and then headed back to the house for breakfast and presents.

I also made gingerbread ๐Ÿ™‚ I mean it was shaped like dinosaurs and llamas…but still gingerbread!

As per the usual Christmas tradition, we went round to our friends for Christmas dinner. This year they cooked lamb on the BBQ, with salmon for me, and we all had salady bits to accompany the food. I ate WAY too much and had to have a little sleep before the end of the afternoon!

Fiji

After Christmas I took a trip (with James) to Fiji. It was lovely!

James had been to Fiji before, but I hadn’t ever been. We chose two places; one resort on one of the islands and one on the main island for a few days at the end of the trip.

You can read more if you go to my full post about the holiday in Fiji.
