Things I am loving this last few weeks:
- Starting Spanish lessons again
- Getting a new tattoo
- Wellington Round the Bays
- My parents arriving from the UK

Starting Spanish lessons again
I started learning Spanish last year (and James too). The lessons are held in the local library hub by a Peruvian lady and it is really fun. This year we’re moving on from the very basics of ‘Hello, my name is…” to learning how to actually talk about things in everyday life.
I won’t lie, I have been finding it a challenge, but a worthwhile challenge.
Getting a new tattoo
I decided to add to my left arm tattoo. As James bought me a tattoo voucher as part of my Christmas present I had a good starting fund ๐
I decided to go with the same floral pattern that I have on my left bicep, but just a bit bigger. Once we’d decided on a location, it took about 5 hours. Which actually wasn’t that bad! The only bit that really bothered me was the elbow area. It was a bit ‘spicy’. Hahaha.
Wellington Round the Bays
This year I ran the 10k race again. I have managed a bit more training that last time, which is nice. I won’t say that it meant it was easy, but it definitely helped!
My goal was to run in under 1:20:00…and I managed to do it in 1:14:48!
As I ran over the finish line I did cry a bit…and then have a sort of mini hyperventilate sort of thing. I’m not sure why…I think that I was glad it was over!!!
My parents arriving from the UK
After four years without seeing my parents, they are here!
I had started to plan a few things to do while they were here, but my mum broke her hip in November…so I thought i’d play it by ear and not book anything, given that I wasn’t sure how mobile she’d be.
As it turns out she’s a dab hand with the crutches and as long as we’re not cramming in loads and loads of walking, it’s been fine. So far I’ve taken them to see the sights and sounds of most of Wellington, we’ve driven to viewpoints and eaten at loads of lovely restaurants.
