Things I am loving this last few weeks:
- Upper Hutt Book Fair
- My last day at the Open Polytechnic | Te Pukenga
- International trip!

Upper Hutt Book Fair
This year I spent about $30 and came away with an entire jute bag with books!
My last day at the Open Polytechnic | Te Pukenga
I will be starting a new job at the beginning of June, after my international trip, and the 19th May was my last actual day at the OP (…where I have worked for almost 10 years).
It was a strange day but a nice one.
A farewell morning tea was put on and at first I was worried that no-one would turn up! I didn’t need to worry though, because loads of people were there and they all said such lovely things 🙂
I am sad to leave, but it is time for a change and I am excited to see what my new role will bring. I am looking forward to the change…but it is going to be very odd to go to work and not see all the same people that I have worked with for so long.
International Trip!
I have written a full post about this HERE, but for a brief summary, read on!
James’ parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year, so we went over to Ireland to celebrate with the rest of the family.
– I went to see my parents for a few days first, and spent time with them, did a bit of shopping, and also saw my cousin, Emma.
– Then I went off to Cork to meet up with the McCafferty clan. It was a lovely sunny trip – I hadn’t packed enough summer clothes! We visited a farmers market, Cobh town, an off shore ex-prison called Spike Island, the wildlife park, and we had a lot of lovely food.
– Coming away from Ireland I went into London with James. It was really nice to go to Camden Market – it’s been a while!
– Finally we travelled home to New Zealand via Singapore. Singapore is HOT! I know that is potentially a really stupid thing to say, but I don’t think I have been hotter, or stickier in my life. I was lovely though. It’s a really easy place to travel around. AND we ran a ParkRun there…not my fastest by a long shot, but I made it and I am happy that I tried!
