Wellington Marathon: 10km

I ran my first 10km where I nether hated it, nor struggled.

I have run 10km before, but this was the first time that I didn’t actively hate it. Quite the opposite actually! I enjoyed it.

Before now my focus was to get a good time. This left me strained and annoyed at myself for making very little progress. This time I focused on keeping my pace and not stopping, and not caring about the time. However, I kept a good pace and I only stopped to take a drink.

AND I had a reasonable time! I managed the 10km in 1 hour and 13 minutes.

AND according to my Strava app I got a PB for the first 5km (32 minutes)…so not a bad run overall!
