Beki Makes Things: Sewing Fever

A few days ago, I mentioned to a work friend that I had bought a sewing machine and that I was planning to learn to actually use it…and the next day she appeared at my desk with a rather large box of sewing patterns to borrow! There were all sorts in there: Trousers, jackets, summerContinueContinue reading “Beki Makes Things: Sewing Fever”

New job and Visa medicals

The last few weeks have been a little bit of a blur to be completely honest; Ems has gone back to England, I have been offered a new (and jolly good) job and it has reached that time of the year where I need to sort out my medicals for the really-actually-properly-staying-here visa. I’ll start with theContinueContinue reading “New job and Visa medicals”

Em’s last day in Wellington :(

It’s been really, really, really, REALLY…REALLY fab having Ems here in New Zealand and sadly it’s her last night here tonight. Tomorrow I’ll take her to airport at 4.00am…yes you heard correctly…4.00am! As this is a happy and sad occasion we went out for a walk along the waterfront and some food at Mac’s. It wasContinueContinue reading “Em’s last day in Wellington :(“

Ems and Bex on Tour: Wandering around Wellington

As me and Ems are back from our little holiday we thought we’d do some sightseeing within Wellington. We ventured to the Mount Victoria Lookout, where we got well and truly blown away, travelled on the Cable Car and walked down through the Botanical Gardens where we tried the new art of ‘Sundialing’.

Ems and Bex on Tour: Taupo

Today was our moving on day again, so we hopped in the wagon and drove down to Taupo for some sunshine by the lake…oh and a Skydive. Ems got photos and a video as she was the Skydive Virgin…not anymore though! Unfortunately she did vomit on the way down but only once the parachute hadContinueContinue reading “Ems and Bex on Tour: Taupo”

Ems and Bex on Tour: Rotorua

Ems and I began the day with a drive to Rotrua’s Skyline. We had seen a leaflet for it and both really wanted to go on the Luge’s. Taking a gondola up to the viewing platform we walked around a little bit and took some photos of the lovely views from up high. We didContinueContinue reading “Ems and Bex on Tour: Rotorua”

Ems and Bex on Tour: Rotorua Lake & Museum

Last night we set an alarm so that we’d wake up/get up well before the checkout time of 10 am (well at least that what we guessed the checkout time was). I set it for 8.30 am…and even though the alarm went off and we got up around that time I still wasn’t really ready at 10.00ContinueContinue reading “Ems and Bex on Tour: Rotorua Lake & Museum”

Ems and Bex on Tour: Beachy Times in the sunshine

Ems and I took a break from the tourist sightseeing and chilled on the beach for a few days. It was bright sunshine for the whole time and very hot indeed. Perfect for a beachy few days. Mt. Maunganui We arrived at our hostel within two hours of leaving Matamata and were soon in ourContinueContinue reading “Ems and Bex on Tour: Beachy Times in the sunshine”

Ems and Bex on Tour: Auckland

Today me and Ems made like grannies and took a bus tour around Auckland. It was $40.00 for the whole day and you can ‘hop-on-hop-off’ as much as you like within that day. The busses stop at 14 important places within the city and you get a commentary as you are driven round. Most of theContinueContinue reading “Ems and Bex on Tour: Auckland”
