Today I started a new job. It’s at the same place that I was already working, but now with a completely different set of responsibilities. New responsibilities.
Before, I was a Learning Designer. Learning Design, similar to Instructional Design, is designing, developing and delivering materials so that someone can use them to be able to do something. With learning design it is learning materials, and in this case it’s tertiary level open distance learning so that the person can upskill.
As a Learning Designer I was in charge at a course level. Someone else would make the decisions about the money, the hours and what was to be included in the development.
Now I’m a Principle Learning Designer, I am the one that makes decisions!
It’s all a little bit intimidating if I’m completely honest.
